CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Our Client, a leading and well reputed company listed on Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), involved in production of high quality paper products, is soliciting interest from mature and dynamic individuals for its Chief Executive Officer position.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will report to the Board of Directors. He/she must possess a solid educational and professional background, highest personal and professional integrity along with excellent managerial and financial skills as well as leadership of business operations — tempered with care and diligence, in the best interests of the Company and its stakeholders.

Responsibilities & Competencies:

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership for all aspects of the Company. Formulate policy frameworks, execute business agendas, support innovation, drive financial returns, manage organizational structure with due interface with the Board of Directors. Establish priorities in terms of corporate objectives and approved long-term strategies, guiding principles and corporate milestones.
  • Manage operations to deliver the products. as per the customers' requirements. while minimizing the cost of production and maximizing output to achieve efficiency. Establish, monitor and maintain appropriate management systems to provide effective internal control of operations.
  • Review the financial results of all operations as per Company's objectives and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations and standards. Should have in-depth knowledge of corporate governance, regulatory framework, and macroeconomic issues.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Must be Graduate (16 years equivalent) from a recognized local/foreign university in Business, Commerce, Financial Management, Engineering or other related discipline. Ones with post graduate degree or membership of a recognized professional body will be preferred.
  • Must have overall minimum twenty (20) years of experience with at least seven (7) years in a leadership position such as Chief Executive Officer/Business Unit Head in a large manufacturing sector organization with a broad understanding of production planning & operations, supply chain & distribution, customer services, finance and pricing, etc. Persons with experience in paper or packaging industry or related industries will be given preference.
  • Maximum Age for the position would be 55 years.
 

This position is based at Karachi. The selected candidate will be offered a three (3) years' employment contract (extendable by mutual consent) with a very attractive remuneration package and facilities commensurate with qualifications and experience.

SENIOR MANAGEMENT POSITION
LIVELIHOOD AND RESOURCE MOBILIZATION

POSITION:

This is a senior management position responsible for leading the Livelihood and Resource Mobilization Department of the organization the department is established to formulate and implement strategies and development plans for underprivileged communities across the country in accordance with livelihood enhancement including Graduation Approach, financial services and enterprise development: technical and vocational skill development, to foster partnerships including collaborations with bilateral donors, trusts and foundations, and the private sector to explore Resource Mobilization opportunities for development programmes aimed at reduction of poverty in the country.

With regard to Programme Design and Implementation, the incumbent shall ensure smooth operations, quality progress and strategic impacts of programmes focused on, but not limited to, financial inclusion, livelihoods, economic empowerment, gender equality etc. He/She shall strengthen policy framework to promote value addition/innovation through financial services to achieve organizational objectives as a sector developer.

The incumbent will be required to devise a strategy for monitoring the progress and achievement of concerned functions as per donor and/or organizational guidelines. He/She shall ensure compliance with relevant regulatory framework(s) to improve the internal control environment.

For the Resource Mobilization portfolio, the incumbent will lead the development of high-quality concept notes and proposals based on organization's strategy, approaches and in accordance with the donors' requirements. The role also requires proactively networking with external stakeholders. In performance of this function, he/she will lead prospect research on donor agencies, corporations and strategically evaluate prospects for corporate and donor grants. The person will take the lead in facilitating inclusive processes for co-creating innovative programme proposals and new partnerships working closely with the innovations team and other internal staff and external investors.

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • The ideal candidate must have at least 16 years of education or a master's degree in Social Sciences/Project Management/Business Administration/Public Administration or relevant disciplines from an HEC recognized national or international institution.
  • Preference will be given to those with specialized diplomas i.e., courses in human rights, gender, rights-based approaches and leaving no-one behind, project cycle management, monitoring & evaluation for results, SDGs, and local development etc.
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant experience with at least five (5) years in a senior management role. especially in a national/international development sector organization
  • Track record of managing portfolios or institutions where similar work designed, strategic frameworks created. And project cycle management was undertaken.

POSITION:

This is a senior management position responsible for leading Procurement. Human Resources and Administration functions of the organization and will provide strategic leadership and guidance to these functions in line with organizational objectives. The position shall require devising strategies for monitoring the progress and achievements of these functions. The role requires ensuring compliance of regulatory framework to reinforce the internal control environment.

The person will be mainly responsible for compliance of procurement activities with Donor/PPRA/organizational rules, regulations, and policies to further strengthen the procurement management system. The role will also require ensuring effective delivery of procurement services and management of procurement plans. The person will also look after the overall Administration affairs of the organization and ensure coordination with other departments to streamline the admin related issues. In addition, the person will oversee the Human Resources function of the organization and reinforce the Policy framework to promote value addition/innovation by employees to achieve organizational objectives.

QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE:

PROJECT MANAGER

Our Client is a most reputed Refinery, listed on Pakistan Stock Exchange, seeking a Project Manager to lead and execute a Refinery Expansion and Upgradation Project with investment of around USD 1 billion.

The Project Manager shall have the complete overall responsibility for successful delivery of the project, including development of project strategy, its execution within cost, schedule and quality targets while taking the safety & environment issues in full consideration. He / She shall also seek out expansion possibilities in allied businesses.

This is a contractual position based in Karachi and will report to Managing Director & CEO.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Leads design and implementation of REUP within given budgetary allocations and approved timeframes and is responsible for end-to-end delivery of the project starting from FEED thru. EPC and Commissioning.
  • Develop key Project Objectives, Policies and strategies, Project Execution Plan, Contracting Strategy & Contracts, Project Risk Management Program and lead selection of qualified and capable FEED and EPC contractors.
  • Ensure that Project CAPEX is estimated and budgeted based on robust financial principles and fiscal policies of the company to present holistic view of project costs. . Assist the Management to secure funding for the Project.
  • Ensure compliance with Regulatory, Commercial, and HSEQ requirements.
  • Liaise with government agencies for licenses approval requirements.
 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Should have a Bachelor of Engineering degree preferably Mechanical with Project Management qualification / certification.
  • Should have at least Twenty (20) years of experience with Ten (10) years in a Senior Project Management role.
  • Should have experience of leading complex multi plant, multi license mega capital projects for refinery, petrochemicals, or similar industry.

Qualifications & Competencies:

Must be LLB/LLM with membership of Bar Council and 10-12 years' post-qualification experience; candidates with experience in a Company Secretarial role strongly preferred. Should possess knowledge of market/industry legal standards and practices, with excellent analytical skills and ability to give attention to detail.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Review and advise the Managing Director on public statements and Government policy from legal standpoint. Comment on case papers involving the Company and obtain (as focal point) User's inputs to clarify the Institution's points of view and legal position particularly with respect to HR issues and encroachments of Company property and rights of way.
  • Advise the Company on legal compliance issues. Coordinate the organization of defence of the Company's legal interests through legal advisors and advocates.
  • Interface and negotiate with legal representatives of customers, business associates, Government, trade bodies, and law enforcement agencies to conclude and execute agreements that are concise, clear, equitable, and adequately cover foreseeable grounds for dispute.
  • Pursue as required cases of litigation involving the Company.

  • Examine and comment on drafts of proposed MOUs, contracts. Agree ments, consents, terms of engagement, purchase and service orders, and contracts for project services.
  • Conduct legal analyses, view technical reports, and recommend course of action on proposed changes in laws and regulations.
