Central Power Purchasing Agency Guarantee Limited Islamabad is a government-owned corporation responsible for power procurement and management in Pakistan. It was established in 2011 as a successor to the Central Power Purchasing Agency. The company is based in Islamabad, and operates throughout Pakistan.
The company is responsible for the purchase of electricity from independent power producers, and the management of associated transmission and distribution networks. It also manages fuel procurement and delivery for thermal power plants.
Central Power Purchasing Agency Guarantee Limited Islamabad has a staff of approximately 1000 employees, who are responsible for the management of a portfolio of more than 7000 MW of installed capacity. The company is governed by a Board of Directors, which includes senior representatives from the Ministries of Petroleum and Energy, Water and Power, Finance, and Commerce.
